During a routine site visit, our Area Sales Manager met with a valued customer operating a shot blasting process for large components. While discussing their production workflow, the customer highlighted a key operational challenge that was limiting their productivity and requiring significant manual intervention.
The Challenge
Prior to installing the automated recovery system, the customer was shot blasting 6–7 large components per day. Each component required approximately 15 minutes of blasting time.
However, after every component was completed, an operator had to manually sweep the blast media from the floor so that the system could continue operating safely. This manual cleanup process took around 30 minutes each time.
This meant that the process involved substantial non-productive time and required constant operator involvement, limiting daily throughput.
The Solution
We supplied and installed a fully automated recovery system designed to automatically collect and recycle blast media from the floor during operation. This eliminated the need for repeated manual sweeping and significantly streamlined the blasting workflow.
The system integrates seamlessly into the blasting area, continuously recovering media and returning it to the blasting process, ensuring the floor remains clear while maintaining media efficiency.

Following installation of the automated recovery system, the customer experienced immediate improvements in productivity and efficiency.
